1. Its a 3 digit number - ABC
2. Add a digit (X) in the beginning and the resultant number is a perfect square - XABC
3. Add X to ABC and you get a perfect square - ABC + X
4. Add X as the second digit and the resultant number is still a perfect square - AXBC
5. Add Y as the 2nd or 3rd digit and still its a perfect square - AYBC, ABYC!
