Team work, collaboration and enterprise success - The Pythagoras way!

Today, 24th October 2026, presented an intriguing mathematical pattern. My close friend and schoolmate Ramananda Pai shared a short video in our school group earlier today morning, which mentioned that this pattern will not occur again for another 80 years. That sounded pretty interesting but also acted as the trigger for my next blog post

Whether written as 10/24/2026 or 24/10/2026, the date contains the numbers 10, 24, and 26 which is an example of a Pythagorean triple. The mathematics pattern is familiar for everyone but what intrigued me was how closely this relationship mirrors what we observe in our corporate world.

As we are aware, the three numbers represent the sides of a right-angled triangle - the squares of the two shorter sides add up to the square of the hypotenuse - 10² + 24² = 26².

Keeping the above concept in mind and drawing a parallel to the corporate world - individual capability and collective collaboration reinforce each other to produce a larger shared outcome as below.

The first side, 10 in this example - represents the skills, attitude, and sense of ownership that each team member brings to the table.

The second side, 24 - represents collaboration, challenging one another constructively and working toward the goals of the larger organization rather than putting individual interests first.

The third side, 26 - is the result created when individual capability and effective collaboration work together resulting in broader enterprise success guided by a clear purpose.

The pattern goes one step further. Halving each number gives 5, 12, and 13 - another Pythagorean triple. Interestingly the scale changes, but the relationship remains intact. The same is true in the corporate world - whether a team has 5 or 10 people, or a group has 12 or 24, the principles of collective success remain the same.

We may all have different roles, strengths, and perspectives, but success is ultimately determined by how effectively we bring them together as a team. Like the sides of a right-angled triangle, individual capability and collaboration must align to create the outcome we seek - Reiterates the point Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM)!
